What Actons looked like when it first opened in 1946
If you’re anything like us, you’re a little obsessed with history and in particular, buildings that have a back story to them. In particular, we are a little more than in love with Actons of Kinsale.
The hotel was the original home of the Acton family who settled in Kinsale in 1860 and very soon had developed a number of businesses in the town of Kinsale. In the next coming years, the family purchased the adjoining buildings in which Sidney Acton opened a family hotel in 1946.
In 1962, Trusthouse Forte purchased and developed a leisure complex in 1986 and added the conference centre accommodating up to 300 delegates in 1988.
