Welcome to another Throwback Thursday, where we take a look at great wedding photos from the past. This week it’s the Hollywood edition of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
Priscilla and Elvis met in November 1959 at a party in Germany when Priscilla was just 14, with that, they began an 8 year long courtship that lasted longer than their marriage.
The couple were married on 1st May, 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas with a second ceremony on 29th for their friends and family who were unable to make it to the first ceremony.
Unfortunately Priscilla and Elvis’ marriage did not work out with Presley quoted as saying “You can love someone and be wrong for them (Elvis Presley: The Man, The Life, The Legend)” but the couple remained friends even after their amicable split.
In spite of the fact that their marriage didn’t work, we love the wedding because it was such an iconic time for them. Priscilla looks gorgeous at just 21 and Elvis was at the peak of his career.
