Welcome to another Throwback Thursday post! We are huge fans of bringing any aspect of the past into your wedding. Every wedding deserves a respectful nod to successful marriages that have gone before us, and what better way to celebrate them than some vintage DIY ideas? Turning some vintage and seemingly obsolete items into gorgeous décor for your wedding is just one way to go about it. Here are some fun (and easy) vintage DIY ideas!
Suitcase Love Notes
A fun alternative to guest books, why not dig up Grandad’s old suitcase with a banner requesting to leave a ‘love note’? The suitcase could be pre-packed with favourite love quotes, vintage styled paper and pens to get your guest’s creative juices flowing. Also, imagine how fun it will be to create your memory scrapbook after?
Boutonnieres
Vintage isn’t just for the gals, groomsmen are included too! If you’re anything like us, your parents or grandparents probably have tons of trinkets that can be easily reused and made into a fab boutonniere for your gorgeous groom. You’ll be surprised what can be done with some trinkets, glue and pins. Just make sure you don’t go super gluing any expensive heirlooms!
Pretty Tea Parties
Beautiful designs and embellishments can always be found in classic “delph” ware. Me Auld China provides gorgeous mix and match pieces like cake stands available to rent. Personally, I would love to have each of my tables decorated with a different teapot. My grandmother has a beautiful collection of expertly crafted pots that are just gorgeous!
