Welcome to another Tip Tuesday, where we dish out our expert advice on all things weddings! With the amazing week we’ve just had, it seemed only right to talk about summer weddings. We’re only a little jealous of anyone who had a wedding last week and managed to capitalise on the fine weather (just a little). With Irish weather being as unpredictable as it can be, it’s nice to be able to get some consistently good days out of the summer. Hoping that wasn’t the last of it, here’s a few tips for anyone planning a wedding this summer:
Make it like a holiday
The best thing about a wedding is it can feel like a mini holiday if you’ve managed to book a weekend or Friday wedding. There’s more than likely going to be a few out of towners coming along so why not organise something for your guests to keep them occupied (especially if they’re going to be about for the weekend). We don’t know if there’s anything like this in your area, but we found this amazing service in West Cork and Kerry called Walk About. Brilliant idea for people getting to know each other and who might be new to an area!
Photos
Take advantage if you’re lucky to have a nice day with your wedding photos. Be sure to note when you’re scouting spots first time around for photos the time of day and the direction of the sun/shade. At least then if the sun is popping out for a little while you can make the most of your photos!
Dress for summer
Even if the sun is shy on the day of your wedding, dress like it’s summer. Consider doing something unique and a little different with a tea length dress – perfect if you’re a shorter bride. The best thing about summer weddings is that your guests will have a lot more fun with florals and colours on your wedding day. Make sure you ask your make up artist applies melt free make up (and waterproof mascara) to tide you over a sunny day.
