I am not a wedding photographer but I do love capturing moments at weddings. I really do. Something about a wedding adds a little playfulness, a little flirtation and a little magic into everyone’s step and people come alive. They do things that they would not normally do. This of course is a photographer’s dream. Make sure to have people in the audience who are capturing these ‘mini’ moments so that you can soak them up and enjoy them after the wedding:
- The way the flower girl and the page boy play once they are back in their parent’s care.
- Your mom’s reaction when you, her daughter, walks down the aisle on your father’s arm.
- The cousins who keep sneaking onto their phones to upload beautiful you and all the other pretty guests to their Facebook pages and YouTube channels.
- The moment when your grandparents hold you tight and start reminiscing about their golden years. These generational moments are huge for them.
- The sneaky moment when your groom whisks you behind a curtain/tree/wall to give you a kiss.
- The funny moment when you need to wee and you realise that you need help because your hoops and petticoats don’t allow you to do it on your own.
- The moment where your groom stares at you when no one is trying to grab his attention.
- The moment where you savour your food, closing your eyes, realising that this is your big day.
- The moment where your hair needs adjusting and you have to call the girls over to help you.
- The moment where your groom looks at you and his eyes say ‘let’s get out of here’.
