Top Ten Wedding Planning Tips

So your just engaged, and I’m sure you’ve already had ideas for your big day for years! Here are just a few tips to consider along the planning process.

1. Decide and stick to your budget!
So you’ve found the perfect dress and shoes? But can you afford to feed all your guests after you splash out on them?

2. Pick a reasonable Wedding Date!
You’re planning a day you want to be perfect, a mere few months is simply not enough time!

3. “It can’t rain on my Wedding Day!”
If you’ve always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, consider your local annual forecasts and plan accordingly

4. Do not forget what a Wedding really is!
Don’t spend all your time / money on the reception when the ceremony itself is the main event!

5. Lack of your personal touch
Your Wedding is an extremely personal day for the both of ye, make sure ye both have a strong input to theme and styling of the day!

6. Brief the people making the toasts & speeches
The last thing you want is someone in the audience being offended by anything mentioned in the toasts!

7. Be Considerate
Yes it is your big day, but be sure to take some time to thank your guests for coming and even more so, thank everyone who helped with the planning, mothers, fathers, bridesmaids and groomsmen!

8. The unintentional Hunger Strike
With all the stresses of planning the wedding, when it comes to the day, don’t forget to take time for yourself to eat something! You don’t want to be one of the brides / grooms you hear of fainting at the alter or at the reception!

9. “One more couldn’t hurt!”
Having your Bachelor / Bachelorette party the night before the wedding? The last thing either of ye want is a hangover as you walk down the aisle!

10. “Who has the rings?”
When the officiant ask this, you defiantly want to know the answer!
