Todays guest blog post comes from award winning make up artist Aisling Eyre.
- Remember, on your wedding day, you want to look and feel the most beautiful version of yourself. It’s not the day to experiment with a new make-up look. You don’t want to look in the mirror and see a stranger or worse still, look back at your wedding photos and say oh my god what was I thinking! I advise brides to keep it natural and gorgeous.
- Remember you can always add more gloss/sparkle or a slightly brighter lipstick after the church and photos for the reception or party.
- As your wedding day is probably the most expensive day of your life, when it comes to bridal beauty, buying an entire set of new make-up specifically for the wedding is not very practical. Buy a few new things that make you feel really gorgeous, but try to think about choosing make-up that you will be able to wear again.
- Don’t change your skincare regime before your wedding to prevent any reaction and double up on your water intake at least one month prior to the wedding to keep your skin clear and glowing. It really does make a difference to your skin.
- Make-up with sheen is very pretty but don’t get carried away. Reflective products look pretty in person but when the flashes go off, the shine is doubled or tripled.
- Go for long lasting make-up products to ensure all day performance. Waterproof mascara is always a good option. The last thing you want is to constantly keep having to re-apply.
- Appoint a “spot checker”. This could be one of your bridesmaids. Ask them to let you know if your make up needs touching up.
