Set across 16 acres of land, Cliff at Lyons is situated on the Grand Canal in rural Kildare. Upon arrival you will be transported through time as the green, lush foliage hugs the rose-clad stone buildings, relics of a village dating back to the 1820’s.
Across its 16 acres of land, the luxury hotel occupies a number of historic buildings; village houses, a barracks, forge and mill. Most famous of the bunch, the Old Mill, was the first building in the village at Lyons. Although the building was gutted by a fire in 1903, the mill was saved when owner James Shackleton courageously helped calm the flames with water from the nearby Grand Canal.
Today, the Old Mill is home to the function room. Its rich history is kept alive each day as the kitchen pay homage to the village’s founding building by cooking up delicious loaves of pan-fried soda bread made from local Irish flour.

For your reception, the Shackelton Mill has room to host 130 guests within its classic paneled walls accompanied by the ornate 17th-century fireplace.
The Well in the Garden is a luxury spa set in the beautifully restored Carriage House building. The two-story building was caringly renovated to maintain the old-style elegance of the original structure, and includes three treatment rooms, a manicure/pedicure suite and a large relaxation space.
