Maybe it’s an Irish thing, but we’ve always been in love with doilies. It’s funny how doilies can take on any look from rustic chic, vintage or just simply elegant. In their most basic form, they’re just an ornamental mat, knitted or crocheted from cotton or linen.
Personally, my memories of them involve my nan’s protective doilies used to make sure the china teapot wouldn’t burn or scratch the fine-wood table.
Nowadays, doilies can get used for so many different aspects of décor. From a fun table runner, bunting or invitations, there are great ideas for doilies out there. If you too are a self proclaimed doily lover, we have found some great ways to work them into your wedding!
