Sophisticated vintage and the sweetest wedding details we’ve seen.
Ieva and Alan united their Irish and Lithuanian heritage with a stunning wedding celebration at Cliff At Lyons on 3rd of June 2016.
Tears and happiness, fabulously fun child-friendly elements and the most strikingly beautiful bride. We just know Ieva’s late mum would be so proud of this truly special day…
“Myself and Alan met six years ago in London, I’m Lithuanian and he is Irish. We both love to travel, Alan’s work brings him to different parts of the world almost every week! Together, we have lived in places like London, Moscow and Amsterdam. But, we moved back to Ireland last year with our two beautiful boys.”
“Our decision to get married was made on a very sad occasion, 15 months ago my mum lost her fight to cancer. Her last wish was to see me walk down the aisle, it was very difficult to go ahead with the wedding planning but concentrating helped me in a way to deal with the grief as I knew I was fulfilling my mum’s last wish. She definitely sent her blessing from above because we had a fabulous day.”
A colour scheme of gold, peach, tan and blush gave their shabby chic theme an air of sophistication. The soft hues complemented the simplicity of Ieva’s gown by Jesus Peiro and allowed her dazzling complexion shine. The delicate scoop neckline, pretty as a picture bow and plunging v-neck to the back literally stole the show for us here in the office.
The couple’s affectionate and loving wedding photographs taken in the gardens of Cliff At Lyons, are straight out of a fairytale.
“I found Cliff At Lyons accidentally on Pinterest – there was something magical about it and I just had to explore more! We were looking for a venue to accommodate a small wedding, private and intimate. Cliff At Lyons had all that and more to offer. It was beautiful and perfect for wedding pictures.”
“As beautiful as Cliff At Lyons is, it was the staff made it very special or should I say made US feel very special. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with all who work there. Also, I have to mention the food! In my opinion, well fed guests are happy guests and believe me, our guests were very happy!! The food we were served throughout the day was top quality.”
“If you look up the qualities of brilliant photographer in the dictionary, you would find Elaine Barker’s name next to it. Wedding photos are the most important part of a wedding because you treasure them forever and looking at them you get to relive your special day everyday. Elaine was amazing, she made my ‘camera shy’ groom so comfortable in front of the camera. She was constantly on point catching the best moments but also, she wasn’t stepping on our toes. It was an absolute pleasure to have her as our photographer and I couldn’t highly enough recommend her. Not to mention the pictures, they speak for themselves!”
“I have to mention our divine wedding cake made by Julien Drapeau of French Wedding Cakes. We had a three-tier cake, all three layers were different : chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, victorian sponge cake with strawberry jam and carrot cake with butter cream. The cake looked spectacular and the detail was amazing. We had our initials on the front of the cake and at the back there were two crossed flags representing the countries we are from. It tasted just as good as it looked!”
A huge thanks to Ieva and Alan for sharing their wedding day with us and to their photographer Elaine Barker for allowing us to publish these stunning shots of Cliff At Lyons. You can see more of Elaine’s work at www.elainebarkerphotography.com
