Wedding Décor: Bottle Makeover

Wedding Décor: Bottle Makeover

When it comes to wedding décor or any DIY, there are two things we love; wedding décor and being thrifty. So when we get to combine these two things, that makes us super happy!

One trend we love is anything to do with glass bottles. Last week, we read an AMAZING piece in BASH Magazine on using balloons to decorate glass bottles (we love BASH and we’re not afraid to admit it!).

If you’re looking to do something super simple for your table numbers or general table décor, you’ll love this. All you need is some glass bottles and jars and some spray paint (maybe white as a base and another colour).

You’ll need a collection of odd glass bottles and jars. Some you can keep from you shopping or can be bought and a second hand shop. Rinse the bottles and jars to get rid of any dust or liquid. It won’t particularly matter if you keep the labels on, in fact, it may just add to the charm! Next you will need a spray can that can be purchased at most craft shops. We found ours in Vibes and Scribes for a fiver. The can is about 400ml, so if done well, can last you for at least 20 bottles. Create a little clean work space and throw on some old clothes. We used an old hoover box! Follow the instructions and shake the can before spraying. The best method for covering your bottles is to work fast. Try not to spend too much time on an area or over spray. If the spray is too light, it can always be re-done once dried.

To make sure you get the colour thoroughly even, spray the inner part a little too. These little babies will be perfect for small vases and can be used as home décor again. Or alternatively, you can give them away to friends and family as a wedding favour.
