Wedding Favours: Cakebombs

Edible wedding favours always go down a treat! Especially if it is a sweet treat which you can enjoy after the wedding meal, or before if you wish! I would like to introduce you to Debbie, the lady behind Cakebombs. If you are looking for something indulgent as wedding favours for your guests then you will want to check these delicious treats out!

1. Hi Debbie, Tell us what exactly are Cakebombs?

Sure Levi. Our gourmet CakeBombs are delicious chocolate truffle cake, mixed with ganache, hand rolled, dipped in couverture Belgian chocolate, sprinkled with something special all sitting happily on a lolly stick.

 2. Sounds  delish! What type of wedding favours can you offer our wedding couples?

Our CakeBombs come in 6 signature flavours {Vanilla, Lemon, Nutty, Caramel, Orange, Plain Chocolate}. Then we have our 5 Chocolate Treats which include our Belgian Brownies, Melting Moments and our best selling Munchie Bar.  All our CakeBombs and Treats are individually wrapped and can be personalised to suit the wedding theme and couple, adding names, cute message or date.

 3. What is your personal favourite Cakebomb flavour?

I do love them all but I have a weakness for the Nutty Bomb.

 4. Why do you think edible wedding favours prove so popular?

I think they are popular because it is a chance to say something to each guest, and of course guests love when they take their seats and there is an edible favour – no matter how small – waiting for them. In this case, it is a sweet thought that counts.

 5. I hear you also make wedding cakes, what can you see as being big wedding cake trends in 2013?

Vintage and lace, succulents, love birds, mint and pale pinks all seem to be on trend for 2013. My personal favourite of all these trends would have to be succulents, total eye candy on a cake.

6. From working with some many delicious treats you must have a sweet tooth! What is your favourite treat?

I am more a salty/savoury type of girl but cannot resist anything that is sweet yet salty at the same time – its the perfect combo for me.

 7. What inspired you to start making cakes and Cakebombs?

It really all started as a hobby and before I knew it I was getting orders for all types of cakes. Not long after I became a Mum, I felt the time was right to start my own business and CakeBombs was born.

8. How do you like to spend your free time?

Anything involving family, friends and food.

 9. Tell us something about you not many people know…

Hmmm, I used to be a Human Statue!!

Self confessed foodie, Debbie first learned to bake in her Mother’s kitchen and just like her Mum did, she loves to cook and bake for family and friends. A little over 4 years ago, Debbie began designing and making cakes from birthdays to wedding, classic to quirky. A passionate hobby that quickly grew for baking and all things Sweet! After becoming a mum herself in 2010, Debbie decided to take the plunge and start her own business. CakeBombs was born and launched in December 2011.
