It’s official everyone, summer is here. Is it just us, or does it feel like January was only yesterday? Now that summer is upon us, we’ve noticed an almost overnight change. There’s a spring in everyone’s step, the stores are stocking pretty florals and bright clothes again and everything just seems brighter. And we have to admit, it’s the one of the best seasons for weddings. Plenty of Bank Holidays to choose from, the kids aren’t in school, the sun MAY possibly come out. Even the possibility of sun is exciting!
So when we heard about Annebrook House Hotel’s fun Summer Lovin’ wedding package – we were immediately curious! Martha from the gorgeous West Meath Hotel let us steal a few minutes of her time to chat about it…
Hi Martha, the package sounds amazing. Tell us more, tell us more (apologies for the pun!)…
We are so excited about this new summer package – guests will be spoiled for choice on arrival at the Annebrook house Hotel! Our Ice-cream Cart will be in position on arrival, serving cool ice creams with an endless choice of toppings. Once inside, guests will also be sipping sparkling drinks, tea and coffee, while also nibbling on a selection of canapés and crumbly scones (yum!). And if they have any room left, they will then enjoy a 5 course meal with a choice of main courses. AND to top the whole night off, our hot dog trolley will be on hand to stave off the midnight munchies as your evening buffet.
Grease is probably one of our favourite movies ever! We love the idea of a 50’s themed wedding too – what is your favourite part of the package?
Yes do too and have been singing Summer Lovin’ since we launched it! We don’t mind if our couples want to go all out or just have it contemporary we are happy to accommodate either way. It’s definitely the hot dog trolley, who doesn’t love hotdogs? Along with the ice-cream, it just epitomises everything about summer and fun.
The day of a wedding must be all hustle and bustle! Is it all hands on deck in the hotel when the big day arrives?
It is such a busy day but there is always a great vibe. All of our staff from porters to chefs, reception and management and all hands on for the day, and we love it. The best part has to always be waiting for the bride and bridesmaids- we are always looking forward to seeing the dresses!
Summer is always a great season for a wedding. What would you say is important for couples to remember when planning wedding at this time of year?
- Weather – Not always dependable. This can affect your schedule, transport choice and attire so choose wisely and always have a plan B (and a stylish brolly)!
- Menu – Even it its raining Summer time is humid so when choosing your menu keep this in mind. A salad starter or fruit starter can be a nice light option for warmer days.
- Cocktails – Are a funky alternative to sparkling drinks reception.
- Ice-cream- We have included it in our package so even if its raining we have a little bit of summer to offer your guests!
