Wedding Photography: Inspired By Love

I would like to introduce you all to Sona, the lady behind wedding, engagement and love photography that is Inspired by Love. Sona spared a few moments with me to chat about all things wedding photography and why it means so much to her!

1. What makes wedding photography so special to you?
All the different emotions. All those fleeting moments. The couple spend so much time and effort to plan their wedding day and it will all be gone in less than 24 hours. Being able to be part of those special moments and capture them for the couple and their friends and families, so once the taste of the champane, smell of the dinner, beauty of the bouquet is gone and all that is left are distant memories, they can just open their wedding album and relive everything again, that is what I love about wedding photography.

2. If you hadn’t become a photographer you would have become…?
When I was little, I wanted to be a teacher (my Mum is a teacher), radio host, movie star, model, singer, but I couldn’t do any of these things. It took me quite a long time to find something I would really be interested in and it was two things, photography and interior design. I actually started studying Interior Design before I became professional photographer, but unfortunately it came to a point, when I had to choose only one. I chose photography, so I guess if I wasn’t a photographer I would probably be an interior designer.

3. What is your favourite childhood memory?
Hmmm playing with my awesome 4 storey Barbie house which my Dad made for me?:) I’m not sure. I know I loved spending summers at our cottage with my Grandma. I remember me and my brother would wake up in the morning, but we would always try to stay as quiet as we could for as long as we could, because we knew that once she knew that we’re awake, we would have to get out of bed and start helping her around the cottage. Now when I think about it, I probably didn’t love it back then, but now I like reminiscing about it:) I also enjoyed celebrating my other Grandma’s Birthdays, because it was in the summer, and we always get to meet all of Dad’s family, these celebrations were always a lot of fun.

4. Where is your favourite place in the world? Besides home of course!
Prague. I lived in Prague for two years before I came to Ireland and I loved every minute of it! It’s a beautiful city of perfect size, with great infrastructure and with so many possibilities for everyone. And then my hometown back in Slovakia where I lived for 22 years of my life and where most of my family and friends still live.

5. Tell us something that might surprise us…
I am obsessed with anything that has an Asian girl picture on it. I love Pucca, Momiji and Kimmi Dolls. I remember when I was younger, I actually used to stand in front of mirror from time to time and pull my eyes in the corners a little to see how would I look like if I was an Asian girl:) I liked that look.

6. Sweet or savory?
Oh that’s a tough one, I’d say I’m almost 50/50, but I think if I had to choose only one, then sweet would always win.

7. If you had one wish…
I would probably wish that my parents hadn’t divorced and I could have seen them grow really, really old together. I am a hopeless romantic like that.

8. What was your favourite wedding you worked with and why?
I’m sorry, but that’s an impossible question to answer. Each and every couple and their wedding is absolutely different and there is always someone/something that makes it my favourite at that time, and then next week I am at another one, and it’s the same thing over and over again, I absolutely and utterly fall in love with that one, until the next one arrives. So I guess the answer would be it’s always the last one, until the next one comes.

9. What keeps you smiling?
My boyfriend and sunshine.
