We have all experienced the feeling that we need to compare ourselves with others at some stage in our lives. And when it comes to weddings, it can be so easy to do this with other brides and the idea of a ‘Perfect Wedding’.
One story remembered by someone in our office comes from a bride who was all set for the wedding she had always wanted. The bride in question attended her cousin’s wedding in the UK just a few weeks before she was set to get married herself. The wedding she attended could only be described as a country-side estate fantasy. The wedding everything from horse drawn carriages to luxury Rolls Royce cars and with only a few weeks to go to her own wedding, it was easy to see why she might be upset.
Fretting, naturally, that her wedding didn’t include any of these things, it’s fair to say this bride was suitably distraught. Could her humble boho wedding match up to the luxurious style of this country wedding? Of course, the bride was gently reminded to ask herself whether or not she was a Rolls Royce and county estate kind of bride to which the answer was no.
It is very easy to get caught up in the world of the ‘perfect wedding’ but at the end if the day, what matters is whether or not it is your perfect day! As long as you and your loved one have decided that your wedding is going to be great is what’s important. Here are a few questions and tips for before your wedding day.
- Would you want the wedding you are coveting right now? Is it really ‘you’?
- If yes, would it fit in with the theme you have created?
- Avoid all Pinterest boards, blogs, wedding Facebook pages in the last few weeks before your day. You’ve made up your mind at this stage… So there’s no going back!
