With weddings, as most things, there always seem to be myths and clichés that people just kind of expect to happen. But, in light of Kaley Cuoco’s pink wedding dress, it’s had us thinking about all the wedding planning myths that really shouldn’t exist. Here are some of our Loch Ness Monster wedding planning myths debunked.
Wearing White
If the idea of a huge white dress and veil has never floated your boat, why go for it? Hair accessories or fresh flowers can take the place of a veil and there are plenty of designers creating dresses in colours besides bone white – just check out Vera Wang’s gorge 2014 collection. Think creams, tea stains, blush pinks, dusty blues, buttery yellows and of course, pastels. Or you can simply add a splash of colour to the dress with a sash, bolero or shoe.
You Went to Their Wedding, So They Have to be Invited to Yours
Don’t feel like you are forced into inviting someone because you went to theirs. Maybe you were a lot closer at the time of their wedding, what ever the reason, this day belongs to you as a couple and it’s your choice… end of!
Wedding Planners are Super Expensive
Not necessarily! Many wedding planners will work with your budget and help you figure out a plan that is right for you. Many planners work closely with suppliers and can even negotiate better deals. Plus, good wedding planners have done this one hundred times over, so they know every trick in the book!
