Wedding Trends 2013 - Part 2

There are so many beautiful and wonderful wedding trends being discussed of late. I mentioned the Roaring 20’s last week and even since then I have seen more and more evidence of its popularity.

Nail Art

A trend that I have heard lots about recently too is nail art. Brides and bridesmaids are going to have great fun with designs and colours. This is something that I didn’t think I would like but it is growing on me J Nail art doesn’t have to be gaudy and brash – ask your nearest nail artist/bar for some suggestions.

Peonies

In terms of wedding flowers the peony remains popular. They are lush, soft and like velvet! Check with your florist though if they will be available for your wedding. Peonies are magnificent as bridal bouquets and equally so as centre pieces or part of your table décor.

Hand Painted Cakes

Now for the taste buds and some cake! Red velvet and chocolate cakes are going to be everywhere. And of course don’t forget you can have a different flavour in each tier. Hand painted cakes were popular last year and still will be this year. I have also seen more and more cakes with pearls. These are so elegant!

Neutral Wedding Colours

I wrote about mint and emerald green last week and I saved blush, nudes, champagne and gold for this week. These are subtle tones that really add sophistication and elegance to any wedding and are so easy to incorporate. Think table numbers, stationery, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, flowers, table décor!

Stay tuned for next week for the last part of Wedding Trends 2013!
