Another year, another season of beautiful brides and fabulous weddings. This year is seeing a lot of new changes, from technology, to fashion, to hair, and all of that is showing up in spring and summer wedding season.
Dresses
The gamut for dresses runs from classic to trendy. For the first option, beautiful dresses from Nicole Miller’s 2015 collection bring to mind timeless elegance that you’ll be proud to remember for years to come.
For 2015, there are also many other dress trends. These include lace arms and accents, dress separates composed of a top and a bottom and the newly popular ‘third dress’.
More and more brides have been wearing two dresses — a full-length gown for the ceremony, and a sexier figure-hugging number for the reception. This summer third dresses are every bride’s must-have – a minidress or 1920’s flapper-style dress is the perfect option for dancing the night away.
Makeup
Au Natural is the top makeup trend this summer. Keep in mind your skin tone when pulling off contours, and use a highlighter in combination with a bronzer to bring out the angles of your face and reveal bone structure.
The ultimate key to great make-up, of course, is great skin. Take good care of your skin by getting enough rest, cleansing thoroughly to remove oil and makeup residue, and using a moisturiser with SPF. Become a blushing bride this summer by using tinted moisturizer and get a tan-free glow by taking good care of your skin by diligently using SPF of at least 70 in the weeks before the big day.
Hairstyles
Gone are the loose bridal hairstyles of recent years. Up-styles are definitely an “I do” for this bridal season. This new trend will add elegance and drama to your wedding look.
Also storming the bridal runway this summer is up-styled hair with carefully placed hair accessories such as pearls or flowers. French twists, low ponytails, oversized buns, and soft, loose braided up-dos are also all the rage this season.
Accessories
Now onto one of the most exciting parts of being a new bride — the engagement ring! As you may know, different cuts and styles . While a princess cut diamond is becoming more in style, classic cuts like the square or oval are just as popular as ever.
When it comes to jewellery, flowers, and hairpins, keep in mind that less is more. Consider the accents on your dress when choosing jewelry or hair accessories. Many brides are opting for less accessories or none at all, with many serving to accent the hair.
Venues
The trend in venues has always leaned towards the fantastic. Castles, beaches, and glamourous hotels are just a few of the options for your dream wedding.
One of the top trends for 2015 is rustic weddings. The Wild West wedding uses country-inspired details like western decorations and prairie retreats. If full-on cowboy hats and boots aren’t really your thing, hold your wedding on a ranch with painted wooden tables, soft white fairy lights and candles, with wildflower table decorations for a heavenly yet down-to-earth event.
Having a summer wedding has never been more fun! Say “I do” with some of these memorable trends for this summer.
