The sun began its day a little hidden for the first time in a week on Sunday, which would normally not surprise us but was quite strange considering the astounding weather we have had this month!
That wasn’t going to deter Karen and Tom though, who were ready and set to do the happiest 5k anyone could ever experience…. a Colour Run! For those not familiar with a Colour Run, it’s a walk or run with a little difference. Every member starts out in white clothing and finishes up decked out in a spattering of bright, dazzling colour or ‘completely distroyed!’ in Tom and Karen’s words. For Colour Me Cork, the first kilometer was yellow, then blue, green, pink followed by Rebel Red and a ‘colour extravaganza’!
A great day for anyone who loves a bit of fun and getting mucky. Fully decked out in the ‘I Heart WD’ tees, Karen and Tom were fully prepared for the day ahead! The run wasn’t timed and everybody was free to go at his or her own pace to enjoy the day…’thankfully!’, in the words of Tom and Karen. Water and Tic Tacs in hand and they were off!
Recommended for anyone who loves a Colour Run and bit of silliness, we will definitely be looking to bring out more ‘I Heart WD’ tees next time around!
