Sheena and Brian got married on July 24th 2015. The bride and her family got ready in the prettiest house with jaw-dropping views of the Co Clare countryside. With an understated and beautifully elegant palette of green and cream, wildflower bouquets made with baby’s breath and daisies and a stunning lime green bridesmaid dress, the couple’s rustic theme complimented their chilled marquee reception at Hotel Doolin.
Sheena wore a simple gown with intricate back detail by designer David Fielden. “I bought it in Myrtle Ivory in Dublin. I didn’t want to wear a veil so my friend made me a floral headpiece to compliment the back of the dress. My shoes were Jessica Simpson.”
“We met on a blind date in Lahinch Golf Course. I happen to work with a friend of my husband, and after a few drinks one night I asked him had he any nice, eligible friends. Turns out he did, we arranged to meet for a game of golf in Lahinch and the rest as they say is history. We are both quiet reserved people so it has to be said that this ‘blind date’ was out of character for both of us!”
“We got engaged in April 2014 in Tenerife. We were going out for dinner one evening when he suggested that we go for a walk up by the cliffs to see the sunset. It came as big surprise, and the ring was very lucky to survive the cliff edge!”
“We loved our photographer Olga aka Mrs Redhead Photography from the moment we met her. I had been following her work for a while and I knew if I ever got married I would love her as a photographer. You can’t but love the way Olga goes about her work, you would hardly know she is there and she is always so happy and makes everybody feel at ease. Both of us would be a little bit ‘camera shy’, but you would never think that by looking at our photographs. Olga and her second shooter Aleksandra Skibniewska made us feel so much at ease on the day. The photographs are simply breathtaking. She managed to capture every detail of our colourful, happy day. It rained for a good part of our day and she managed to get such remarkable photographs, nothing seems to be a problem to her. She was very professional to deal with before and after the wedding. We could not recommend Olga enough, she is a talented photographer and she really added to the atmosphere of our day. Thank you once again Olga for making our day so special!”
“Hotel Doolin is a fabulous venue. It’s unique relative to most other wedding venues, every wedding is different there. I loved the way we could make it our own. It lends itself to a very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere. The management and staff were very professional and did everything and more that we asked of them. The food and wine was exceptional.”
“I loved the preparations on the morning of our weddding in my parent’s house in Moy. The ceremony in Moy church was so beautiful. We also had so much fun up in Hag’s Head where we went for photographs. We laughed so much. The wind was blowing strongly and our dresses and hair were being blown everywhere, but at that stage we didn’t care, we just went with it and enjoyed every moment. It says a lot about our photographer Olga, that we’re picking the photo shoot as one of the highlights of the day.”
