Planning a wedding can be stressful, let alone planning them all-year round! But at the Red Cow Moran Hotel you will be warmly welcomed with a sense of hospitality that will make your big day extra special.
We spoke with their Wedding Coordinator, Sinead Callaghan, to get the scoop on one of Dublin’s busiest wedding venues.
You are working in one of Dublin’s favourite wedding venues. There must never be a dull moment! What is a typical day like for you?
I usually hit the ground running by checking my emails and any hand-over that might have been left for me from the night before by any of my colleagues. In between wedding show arounds and meetings I coordinate the finer details for the next incoming wedding from liasing with the chef on menus options, drafting table plans and place cards to finalizing the colours for the matching chair covers and floral displays.
The Red Cow Moran Hotel is located in a beautiful and central part of the country. Do you think the city location draws people to get married?
The location of the Red Cow Moran Hotel is actually perfect for weddings as its situated just off the M50, at the Gateway to the Provinces, so it is convenient for visiting friends and family coming in from the Airport or travelling into Dublin by rail or car. I think guest comfort and convenience is a big consideration for bridal couples these days. We also offer extensive free car parking so the bridal party and wedding guests know that not only will they be able to find us easily but once here, they can park up and let their hair down for the weekend knowing they won’t face an additional charge at the end of their stay.
You are working with brides and grooms every day. What are your favourite wedding trends this year?
I have definitely noticed a move back to the more elaborate affair, while everyone is still budget conscious, the finer details are starting to creep back into our weddings with fun cocktails, mini cupcakes and our candy cart amongst our most popular ‘add-ons’.
While going ‘vintage’ is not a new trend it still appears to be very popular for 2015 weddings and I just love the statement head pieces, elegant gowns and romantic pastel tones that brides are choosing to complement their wedding looks with.
What do you do to switch yourself off? Is it difficult to do working in one of Dublin’s best known wedding venues?
I am very outgoing and love spending time with family and friends. I unwind by hiking up Bray Head or the Dublin Mountains, doing a spot of gardening or when time allows (with 3 kids it can be a bit of a challenge) I love to get stuck into a good book and am currently really into the James Patterson series
Tell us what you have planned in the Red Cow Moran Hotel going forward.
Having only recently completed the refurbishment of our magnificent ballroom and all of our bedrooms and welcomed our new General Manager Colm Murphy to the team, there have already been quite a few developments for the Red Cow Moran Hotel this year. Looking ahead though we will continue to invest time and energy into ways to improve and impress with our wedding packages and high standards of service.
