A truly beautiful elopement along the Wild Atlantic Way. The dramatic waves of the Atlantic Ocean and spectacular cliffs looming in the backdrop mirrored the rugged handsomeness of the groom, while it complimented the elegant simplicity of the bride’s gown and her heartwarming smile…
After being introduced through Danielle’s partner on the Orange County PD, this adorable pair quickly fell for each other, enjoying outdoor activities and foodie dates.
Keeping the proposal a secret from Danielle proved an extremely hard task – she is a detective after all! Once Tom bought the ring, he had to pop the question ASAP for fear of her spoiling the surprise. In truly romantic fashion, he brought her to the scene of their first date at Lake Louisa, before Danielle snagged the ring out of the box and accepted. Her sentimental engagement ring was crafted by combining gold earrings from Tom’s late sister Jane and Danielle’s grandmother’s wedding band.
After spotting an elopement package online for Doolin, Co Clare, it seemed perfectly fitting with Tom’s Irish surname O’Malley. And the decision didn’t disappoint if their wedding album is anything to go by!
The bride looked effortlessly gorgeous in a Maggie Sottero gown which flowed in the autumn breeze. “She looked like a Celtic goddess.”
Standing at the cliffs edge, Tom and Danielle exchanged vows in an intimate and touching ceremony on October 7th 2015. Their parents had written heartfelt letters filled with blessings and well wishes. These were opened and read to the pair by their celebrant Dara Molloy. Passing hikers and their photographer Yvonne were witnesses to their magical Christian ceremony and Irish knot-tying tradition.
The couple partied the night away at O’Connors Pub to Irish trad including an old local man who sang Danny Boy and a Swiss Choir who performed during their wedding dinner.
“We were referred to Yvonne Vaughan Photography through Dara and Niall Hughes at the Seaview House. We communicated through email until we arrived in Doolin, the night before the big day. She came and met with us to discuss what we wanted in our photography session. Yvonne was professional and easy to work with. The one thing I wanted was pictures of Tom seeing me for the first time. She gave us options, and we trusted her expertise. When we received our photos, we were in awe at how beautiful and wonderful they turned out!! Yvonne was AMAZING!!!!! She was fun, relaxed and knew the area to pick the best spots for our pictures. She did more then we asked for.”
“Sea View House was just beautiful – we wanted to do something different. We both live in Florida, and as we are in our 30s with lots of family and friends, we had to be creative. I found the elopement package through the Seaview House, and with the blessing of our families we decided to have a destination wedding and make our vows to each other. We decided to get married on the nearby cliffs just north of the Cliffs of Moher which was the best decision we ever made. We fell in love the village of Doolin immediately. Our hosts, Dara and Niall Hughes, were incredible. They helped us with all the details, and we were able to sit back and relax. We left feeling like they were family. The sheer beauty of the location took our breath away. It was a little piece of heaven on earth.”
