Winter Wedding Hair Trends

I think it’s safe to say that nearly every woman is somewhat obsessed with their hair. And since we’re now mid-winter season, we’ve asked the lovely Tricia at Munster Mobile back to give us some top tips on winter wedding hair trends….

Winter Wedding Hair Trends

Hi Tricia, when it comes to winter weddings in Ireland, you can get any kind of weather! What are your favourite looks to combat our crazy forecasts?

Keep hair soft, allow strands to fall loose on up-do’s so that if a few more strands come loose it will look intentional, avoid very structured do’s.

Are there any lovely trends that have crossed over from spring/summer to the wintery seasons?

I’m still on a whimsical soft up-do mode, I love flowers in the hair but why not exchange flowers for berries and ivy in the winter?

Up-dos must be especially popular during a windy day, but if you hate you’re hair up, are there any good alternatives that can survive a wet and windy wedding?

Absolutely, loosely bring back the top and sides, go for a gentle curl or wave. By bringing back the front you will avoid hair blowing in front of your face and sticking to your lippie, especially when your photos are being taken.

Create a more relaxed look for the evening when you are snug indoors and let the top and sides down, run your fingers through to mess it up, add a touch more spray and let the party begin!!

What is your favourite winter look this year?

I love the nod to vintage that is still coming trough this winter but it is just a nod and not the full-on mercel waves of last year.
Whilst the waves are still a big feature they are brushed out for a softer and fuller look.’ Texture’ is the buzz word for hair this season.

Do you have a favourite hair product to survive the winter seasons?

The key to buying the correct products is knowing you hair type. There are a number of amazing hair oils on the market at the moment but on fine hair many of these are simply too heavy.

Central heating indoors is as harmful as wind and frost outside. Get into the habit of applying a hair mask weekly and trim your hair every 6 to 8 weeks it really does help.

Make sure you have hairspray in your wedding day survival kit, you need a product that you can re-apply without leaving your hair dull or flat.
My favourites are: Aveda Control force hold hairspray and Umberto Giannini Glam Rock Firm Hold Spray, despite sounding a tad industrial they will not make your hair hard or sticky.
