Bridal Shoes: Jimmy vs. Christian

bridal shoes: Jimmy vs. Christian

Two of the world’s most coveted shoes Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin…. Ahhh! What wardrobe wouldn’t welcome a fresh pair of either shoe into their wardrobe? But, if you had to choose? Personally, I’ve never owned a pair of either but it’s fun to imagine what it might be like to have a dream pair. Here is our Jimmy vs. Christian in bridal shoes.

Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo, launched in 1996 when Tamara Mellon, accessories editor at Vogue UK approached the couture shoe maker based in East London. Mellon want to make “wearable but stylish” shoes available and saw potential in him.
The philosophy of Jimmy Choo is to create shoes and accessories that are both luxurious and practical for all occasions while creating a look that is instantly recognized as ‘Jimmy Choo’.

He has 83 stores worldwide but sold his share of the company in 2001. So, although they carry the Jimmy Choo label, they have not been designed by him. Shoes that have been designed by Jimmy Choo himself can only be bought from Jimmy Choo Couture, in Paddington, London.

Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin, a French shoe designer, attended both Chanel’s and Yves Saint Laurent’s schools of design before opening his first boutique in Paris in 1992. His work has always been know for their trademark red soles. The shiny red colour of the soles has no other function other than to identify them as Christian Louboutin shoes. The famous red soles were said to be inspired by an employee’s red nail polish.
Christian louboutin has 20 boutiques worldwide with a flagship store in London with every Christian Louboutin boutique being designed and decorated by himself.

The Winner

Although it would be impossible to turn down a pair of either shoe, personally I would love a pair Christian Louboutins. Not only does the designer himself still work there but his signature red sole is hard to beat!
