Bride Blogger Sara tells us how she chose her wedding style…
I am getting married in a blank canvas venue so we have had to dress it and create our own décor. When I started I had a theme in my head, but over the last few months I have developed it and fused all of the elements of different visuals that I like. At this point I haven’t restricted myself to a single theme.
The 2 biggest resources I have used have been Pinterest and Real Wedding Stories on websites and magazines. Pinterest has been amazing, no matter what your style preference is, you will find the visuals for inspiration in Pinterest… I even found my wedding dress on Pinterest. Set up a private board so that no one else can see it, then start pinning away and when you look through all of your pins you will have a bigger picture of ideas.I also used other people’s real weddings to draw inspiration. The good thing about looking at other peoples stories is that it gives you hope to know that if they could do it, so can you!
If you are getting married in a hotel and want to put your stamp on it, don’t feel restricted, most venues will let you bring in your own touches and so much can be done for very little. Talk to your wedding coordinator at your venue and see if they have alternative décor options or added extras that can make your day more personal.
