Planning a destination wedding these days seems to be more and more common. One of the most common trends we are seeing is people coming home to Ireland to have their wedding. If you’re away from home right now but want to have your wedding here; it came seem a little daunting. Patricia from Oriel House Hotel has a few simple but incredibly useful tips for anyone planning a destination wedding.
Virtual Showarounds
Patricia from Oriel House Hotel mentioned to us recently that s lot of their show-arounds are now done over Facetime and Skype. “We take our couples through a tour of the hotel and it is pretty much the same as a regular show-around. But, we usually like to do it on days where there is also a wedding around. Since a lot of couples can’t attend wedding fairs, this is a great way to see how their wedding could look.”
Keeping Time
Time difference is also a big factor when planning a wedding. Patricia sets her World Clock to the times of her couples and recommends that they do the same. As well, if you do need to come home to plan your wedding, consider doing it at a time that you can also enjoy with your family, like the holiday season. Patricia mentioned to us that you will be able to make your trip a lot more worth while this way!
A Wedding Planner
Your family can be amazing while you are planning too. For meeting suppliers or your wedding venue, someone from home you can trust is ideal. It may also be a good idea to hire a wedding planner from the local area too. Your wedding planner can do the majority of liaising with your other suppliers and it will be a lot easier to be able to communicate with just one person.
