Liz O’Dowd (nee Daly) and Sean O’Dowd were married on the 4th of September in St. Nicholas’ Church, Castlelyons and then held a spectacular reception in the Dromhall Hotel, Co. Kerry wedding venue. The couple are both originally from Castlelyons and bought a house last year in the neighbouring village of Conna.
“We met 11 years ago when Liz worked in Centra, Castlelyons in a summer job. We got engaged on New Years Eve 4 years ago in Fermoy before going out for dinner!!!”
“We got married on the 4th of September in St Nicholas Church in Castlelyons and had our reception in the Dromhall Hotel, Killarney. We both have a great grá for Killarney and that is why we decided to look at wedding venues there.”
“We were married by Father Gerard Coleman who was so relaxing and helpful in the run up to our big day.”
“We had some of our pictures taken with our families in the grounds of Castleyons church. Then with our bridal party and parents we went to Ross Castle in Killarney for more pictures, before taking the rest in the Dromhall Hotel.”
“Special guests on the day included the bride and grooms parents, Christy and Mary Daly & Tom and Mary O’Dowd. The Maid of Honour was my first cousin, Carolyn Motherway and the Bridesmaids were my very close friends Michelle Boyce and Avril Finnegan.”
“The Best Man was the Grooms’ brother Michael O’Dowd, Groomsmen were Thomas O’Dowd (Grooms brother) and Will Daly (Brides Brother). We had 3 Page Boys who were Sean’s nephews, Keelan & Darren Buckley and Rian Lenehan.”
“Our day was so special, because we were surrounded by great family and friends who supported us every step of the way. And, we were blessed with the most amazing weather. We were both very relaxed on the day and really enjoyed every single minute of it!”
“ For our Honeymoon we went to Albufeira in Portugal for two weeks.”
“We cannot give enough praise to the Dromhall Hotel, since the day we booked our wedding it has been nothing short of a pleasure to work with them. In our 11 years together we have stayed in the hotel a couple of times every year so it was only fitting that we had our wedding reception there. Everything on the day was perfect, the food, the room and the service was absolutely outstanding. A special mention has to be made for Michael, Sue and Barbara, they were really fantastic to us!”
