Hotel Review: Randles Court, Killarney, Co. Kerry

I’ve been very remiss not getting this post out sooner, after all our blogging bride’s wedding was 3 weeks ago now!  While the wedding itself was held in the Muckross Park Hotel, many of the guests opted to stay in various other hotels – after all the Muckross Road in Killarney is like hotel alley, there are so many of them!

I stayed in the 4 Star family run Randles Court Hotel which is a sister property of the Dromhall Hotel one of our Killarney Wedding Hotels here on WeddingDates.ie.  Randles Court also caters for small weddings and I was anxious to check the place out for myself.

What strikes you the minute you enter the hotel is the homeliness of the place.  A fire lighting in the intimate lobby was a welcome sight as it was such a blustery day.  Just off the lobby there is a lovely lounge area decorated in a country house style and as the hotel itself dates back to 1906, you do get the feeling of a place steeped in history.  Being a family run hotel, the staff are also super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We got an upgrade (my favourite word!) to a Signature Room (pic below) and it really was a stunning room with views out over the Muckross Road and the mountains.

The bedroom also had a CD player and an ipod dock with speakers which I haven’t seen many places.  After the wedding, we slept so late we didn’t get to sample the breakfast (!) but the shower was one of the best I have ever had – one of those massive shower heads that rains down on you.  Just what we needed to shake the cobwebs off after the late night previously!

All in all, a great stay in a friendly and well appointed hotel.  I will definitely be back!
