Blackrock Castle Observatory

Built in the 16th Century, CIT Blackrock Castle is a boutique wedding venue with a view unlike any other – overlooking Cork Harbour! Lovingly restored and steeped in history, Blackrock Castle caters for bespoke weddings in a warm and relaxed environment. No two weddings are the same, so if individuality is high on your wish list, Blackrock Castle is the perfect space to put your own stamp on your ceremony.

For the most important day of your lives, you will enjoy exclusive-use of the castle, with the venue’s on-site specialist Events Coordinator consulting with you throughout your journey to ensure everything runs seamlessly. For groups of up to 100 guests, The Forum & Long Room is situated in the main castle building. While up to 25 of your loved ones can be accommodated in the intimate Fireplace Lobby to witness you and your partner exchange vows. From June to August, only evening ceremonies are hosted at the castle, meaning you can take advantage of the extraordinary summer light for those all-important wedding photos.

 

Bellingham Castle

Brimming with history and romantic charm, Bellingham Castle is utterly private and prestigious. In 1905, it was the venue for the romantic wedding celebrations of Augusta Mary Monica Bellingham, daughter of Sir Alan Bellingham, 4th Baronet, to John Crichton-Stuart, the 4th Marquis of Bute. The Marquis, who was one of the wealthiest men in the British Isles at the time, spared no expense and treated his bride and guests to a lavish celebration, including chartering the Princess Maud steamer to take their guests and the Isle of Bute pipe band across the Irish Sea for the wedding! As the society event of the year, the wedding attracted the world’s media attention, from California to New Zealand.

Today, more than a century later, Bellingham Castle is still an exclusive castle wedding venue that exudes elegance and sophistication. An impressive tree-flanked driveway leads up to the centrepiece of the 17 acre estate; the magnificent castle.
