We met on a blind date. It was set up by a lady I met through a ski program in Sugarbush, Vermont. She was determined to find me (Kate) a nice guy. She had good taste, she met Will through some of her friends and decided we would be a good match. Some texts were exchanged, and a date happened about a week later. Sparks flew, and the rest is history!
It happened in our living room while I was having a stressful work day. Our building at work had gone on fire and I was busy working at home trying to make sure all my team would be able to be back in the building the next day. Will came out of our bedroom with my “Christmas present” which was an engagement ring.
We really wanted a weekend event that was relaxed and all about family and friends. Over half of our guests were travelling from the USA or UK, so we wanted to be in a location that could accommodate a lot of guests but was also near a town (Kinsale) that could accommodate more people and also provide them places to see, eat and drink.
Customer service and personal touch at Ballinacurra House were world class. It felt like we were staying in Downton Abbey. The fact the estate is private just made it all the more special. Getting up in the morning and having breakfast with all your friends and family without worrying about anyone else was just amazing!
David was so relaxed and he relaxed us both. He made it fun and not too serious. We had one quick planning meeting with him and he totally got our no fuss vibe and it permeated through how he worked with us on the day. He even got my shy husband to do a kiss picture!!!!
We were pretty conventional….. it was all about no fuss and fun fun fun!!! Ballinacurra made it unique.
The Special Moment
