Late Summer weddings at Oriel House Hotel

Weddings at Oriel House in Late Summer

Late summer is such a stunning time for weddings. Autumn has not yet begun and our long evenings are still something to be thankful for. We caught up with Patricia at Oriel House Hotel on why late summer weddings at Oriel House Hotel are so lovely.

Patricia begins by mentioning that late summer is actually the perfect time for a lot of people. “For teachers or anyone with children, late summer even leading up to September is perfect. The weather is still quite good and people just seem at ease after a few weeks of summer holidays. A lot of our August and September dates end up being filled by teachers and parents.”

For trends, Patricia has noticed a few décor pieces to watch out for. “Starlight dance floors are definitely on the rise. Radiant Orchid is the official Pantone colour of the year, so we’re seeing a lot of that too! We’re also seeing a lot of Best Men recording their speeches, fun first dances and brides looking for alternatives to white. We see the majority of our couples covering their own costs and as a result, the have more of a say. The day definitely reflects their own interests and personalities more in recent years.

Patricia does offer one word of advice to anyone planning a wedding in late summer. “Be careful of all Ireland final dates and other sporting events. If you love sports and are interested in showing a game at your wedding, the Oriel House Hotel can have two screens projected in the room with the game on in the background.”
