How to look and feel a million dollars on your Wedding Day

Who doesn’t want to feel a million dollars on their wedding day? Who would choose not to look the best they can on one of the most important days of their lives? I don’t know a single soul who wouldn’t give their all to look and feel a million bucks on the day they say ‘I do’.

Your wedding day is a day you’ll remember forever, and hopefully one where the photos of you and your other half look so good that you’ll hang them all around the house. You’ll want to look back with teary eyes and reminisce the beautiful day you spent with your loved ones celebrating a lifetime together. And that is why it is so essential to prepare yourself, physically and mentally, well in advance, so that everything is perfect and no one’s in a hurry on the D-day.

But how? What can you do to look and feel like the most special human on Earth on your wedding day? If you’re curious to find out, discover some tips below.

Plan a Hen Do

There’s nothing better or more relaxing than celebrating your wedding day with your best friends. Planning a hen do is a must before your special day: it’ll give you the opportunity to spend time with your friends and thank them for all the help they’ve been giving you in the months leading up to the D-day. It’s also a moment to shake off all that stress you’ve been feeling with some good ole’ dancing!

A spa day with your girl pals!

And besides a hen do, you can also go to a spa for the day and take with you your best pals. I recommend doing this the week prior to the big day so that you take full advantage of a good massage and zen vibes. It’s the perfect excuse to be pampered and drink some margaritas with your friends.

Go to a cosmetic centre

In order to look like a million bucks, think about going to a cosmetic centre and get your nails done, including your toes. You can also get your eyebrows, upper lip and body waxed so that you don’t have to worry about doing it yourself the night before your wedding day. It’ll be done and you won’t be unnecessarily stressed. If your wedding is a year or so away, you could always invest in getting laser hair removal and not even think about it for the rest of your life.

Write down the reasons why you’re getting married

I find that writing down why you’re getting married to your best friend helps you realise that you’re amazing in the eyes of your significant other and if that’s not a confidence booster, I don’t know what is. You can consider writing your own vows too, which will make the ceremony all the more special – find examples online if you’re struggling or don’t know how to put into words how you feel. As long as it’s real and coming from you, it’ll be perfect, I’m sure!

Get a facial

Your face is the thing you’ll see the most on your wedding photos. It’s what your future hubby will be looking at when you walk down the aisle or when you’re saying ‘I do’, so you could say it’s an important part of your body to keep in mind when getting ready. Getting a facial is always a great idea, but especially a week before your day – it’ll help remove dead cells and give you’re a natural glow. If you suffer from acne, think about getting a few facials in the months leading up to the big day, or do an acne treatment and get that sorted.

Get a professional beauty team

Hiring a hairstylist and a make-up artist will help with your nerves on the day. Plus, they’ll make you feel top notch by looking beautiful. When hiring a beauty team, don’t forget to schedule a couple of sessions with them so that you can test some styles and see what you love the most – also bring photos of your dress and shoes to show the team so that everything matches.

A good night’s sleep

This goes without explanation, but a good night of sleep does wonders for your stress levels, your happiness and even your face. Hiding dark circles is possible but it’s less of a task to do if they’re not really there. When you wake up on your special day, you can always do a tissue mask or even just an eye mask to wake up your face a little more. But the best rule is to go to bed early the day before.

These tips are just some ideas on how to make you feel a little bit ‘more’ on your wedding day. You don’t need to do any of these if you don’t want to and everyone reacts differently to things, so what works for your best friend on her special day might not do the same for you on yours. Just remember that you’re loved and special and you deserve to feel like a million dollars on your wedding day!
