Deirdre has been a with the hotel since its inception in 2006, something the whole team is very proud of. As a dedicated wedding co-ordinator, she has garnered several awards over the years, earning the title of ‘Venue Coordinator of the Year’ in the year 2018 by Ireland Wedding Journal as part of their Reader Awards.
A recent review from a July 2023 wedding at the hotel commended Wedding Coordinators Deirdre and Aisling, along with their incredible team, for their fantastic service. Photographic Opportunities
The lush private gardens at An Grianan serve as an ideal setting for family photographs, and provide couples with a variety of different backdrops to choose from. To the rear of the hotel, there’s a miniature Grianan Fort, adding another picturesque element to the venue that proves to be a favourite with photographers. Inside the hotel located within the the Old Church Restaurant is an exceptional feature, beloved of couples. A beautiful stained-glass window is a staple for inclusion in all wedding albums, regardless of the season.
Beyond the property lies the historic Grianan of Aileach ring fort, an ancient site and weather permitting, couples are encouraged to include this setting in their wedding portfolio.
Civil Services
As a fully registered venue, An Grianan Hotel’s wedding function rooms are approved to host civil ceremonies, a collaboration achieved through close coordination with the Registrars in Donegal County Council. The Magh Tuireadh Suite is tailored for more intimate weddings, while the Tuatha De Danann Suite accommodates larger gatherings.
Every part of an in-house ceremony is managed seamlessly. Guests will typically arrive earlier in the day and the venue’s team is perfectly positioned to execute on the required transformation of the various spaces. The foyer will be a social hub for guests to mingle and enjoy refreshments. You won’t even be aware as you are guided perfectly through your day.
Wedding Fayres
An Grianan Hotel hosts two Wedding Fayres annually, one in February and the other in September, organised in collaboration with Perfect Bliss Wedding Events. These fayres feature over 60 top-class exhibitors and industry professionals from around the North-West, providing couples with an ideal opportunity to connect with the best in the business. The event includes a special Prize Draw with a total value of €10,000, and couples who book their weddings between the two fayres are automatically entered into the draw. During the fayre, three lucky winning couples are announced, each receiving a prize valued at €5,000, €3,000, and €2,000, respectively.
