Teenage sweethearts Grainne and Jamie were married on July 19th 2014 – and they arrived in style to celebrate with family and friends at The Silver Tassie Hotel. With the help of their photographer, Paul Doherty, the pair created a hilarious entrance video to kick off their fun-filled festivities. The staff at the Silver Tassie were in on the gag, providing this family affair with lots of giggles and they danced the night away.
A romantic Christmas proposal during a visit home from Australia began their two and a half year journey to the altar. “Two days after Christmas Jamie called out to my home and asked my Dad for his permission. The same day we went for a drive and Jamie proposed in the field where we plan to build our house. The ground was wet so he ended up with a very muddy knee!”
“We had a very funny moment at the top of the aisle in the church. Jamie was so nervous with his eyes fixed straight ahead that he didn’t realise I had walked up the aisle and was standing beside him – I had to say ‘I’m here’ before he turned around!”
Grainne looked radiant in a beautiful lace gown with dainty diamante detailing on the back. “I got my wedding dress at Bridal Showrooms in Derry. I didn’t know what I wanted when I went shopping but I fell in love with the shape and detail of my wedding dress. I loved the sparkly back detail and belt.”
“The Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny was wonderful. It has a great reputation for quality food and great service. We knew we didn’t have to worry about the arrangements or how our guests would be looked after. We trusted the managers and the staff to give us an amazing day and we were not disappointed! The room was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious and everything was taken care of for us. The flexibility of the staff and wedding packages, the attention to detail and the welcoming, warm relationship of trust and confidence established between us and the management truly set the Silver Tassie apart from other venues.”
“Our wedding photographer Paul Doherty made us feel comfortable and relaxed which was so important to us on our big day. It was so much fun and there were many laughs. Paul really captured the feeling of our day and our wedding album reflects our happiness and enjoyment. I love looking back on the day and remembering each treasured moment.”
