It was ‘Va Va Vroom’ for Laura & Michael at Ballygally Castle

Laura Watt and Michael Reid who recently celebrated their beautiful wedding at the newly refurbished Ballygally Castle share with us details of their special day.
The happy couple met through their love of cars at the Stock Racing in Ballymena and after 7 years together, Michael got down on one knee and proposed to Laura on the 28th August 2012.

When searching for the perfect engagement ring, the bride decided on Robert Adair Jewellers in Ballymena, she said “ I had always wanted a platinum ring, after trying on a few I settled on a platinum solitaire. We also got our wedding bands in there too after the excellent customer service we received from picking the engagement ring.

On searching for the perfect venue, Laura said, “We looked around a few venues for the reception, but we had never been to Ballygally Castle. After seeing it for the first time we fell in love with the place. We were made to feel very welcome from the first time we visited until the morning after the wedding.”

Laura continued: “Everything happened exactly as it was planned. The meal was excellent and the staff were professional with no hassle. Our wedding was held in the newly refurbished Kintyre Ballroom, which had panoramic views across Ballygally Bay and the Irish Sea! This proved a real wow factor with all our guests!”

Reflecting on the stunning photographs which were captured on the day, Laura said, “It was an extra bonus we had brilliant weather that day. The setting of the hotel and the gardens was amazing. It was an added bonus to be able to get a real variety of pictures from the gardens and also on the beach across the road”

There are so many choices when choosing the perfect flowers for your Wedding Day, here is how Laura made her choice, she said “I had picked Leaf Design after seeing their great work at other weddings. They are local and great customer service and have also won a lot of awards which was an extra bonus. They were done an excellent job without any hassle or fuss.”

Entertainment for the drinks reception on Laura and Michaels’ day was harpist Eimear Hughes. Laura made her decision after seeing Eimear perform at the Wedding Journal Show in the Kings Hall in Belfast.

The evening entertainment was provided by wedding band ‘This Way Up’.  Laura said, “After looking up various bands on YouTube this band stood out for us. We really liked the fact there was a male and female for lead vocals. The band were excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone.”

When the band had finished Laura and Michael, along with there guests danced the night away with a DJ from CT Entertainment.
