“I’ve Never Seen Elegance Go Out Of Style…”

This week, we have a guest blog from the beautiful Nessa of Life’s Lust Haves. If you’re having trouble finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses, fear no more! Nessa has found some fabulous suggestions to suit all tastes!

They are either family or your dearest friends, they have listened to every one of your wedding dilemmas and they have shared so many Pinterest pins with you on the search for your perfect table setting…so don’t they deserve a little bit of fuss and glamour too?

In recent times, bridesmaids are really being given the time to shine with more brides opting to really focus on and create a perfectly styled over all look for their special day. Many brides are interested in changing things up for a more contemporary, modern look. Even the brides that prefer the matching timeless traditional look are going to great lengths to make their bridesmaids look unique.

Bridesmaid Dresses

Alot of brides ask for my advice on the long or short dress debate. Maybe one bridesmaid hates her legs and the other would rather wear a short dress..there are so many options to chose from. I personally love how brides are mixing and matching styles, lengths, colours and embellishments.  However, I know from personal experience that it’s not as easy as it seems and there is a reason why most people opt for the same dress for their bridesmaids – it’s much easier!

Please also do remember that yes, it is OK for your bridesmaids to have their own life outside of your wedding and yes, it is OK for them to fall pregnant. Asos do a fantastic range of maternity dresses that are also available in Tall & Petite range too so everyone is happy! There is no need for panic at all.

Coming into the winter months, it’s the perfect time to use rich and luxurious tones such as navy, dark green, red, burgundy, gold, metallics and grey. Of course a lot of brides prefer the more neutral soft colours which is perfectly gorgeous too for Autumn/Winter – you could even add some dark lipstick, gold accessories and some faux fur for some glamour.

Here’s some bridesmaids dresses that could work for any wedding season:

(1) Beautiful Black Lace Dress (2) Soft Grey Embellished Maxi (3) Off-the-Shoulder Red Dress

Why not opt for a beautiful midi dress for your girls to show off their shoes? I love this (4) blue vintage-style number, (5) this navy lace one and you can never ever go wrong with understated simplicity like this (5A) pale pink dress either.

Shorter lengths are becoming increasingly popular or you could even opt for a skirt and top combination and change their tops for an individual look.

Listen to your Bridesmaids! Ask them what they do and don’t like in a dress and try to include them in picking their dress as it will result in a much more relaxed and happy wedding party and less hassle and stress for you and your partner.

Happy shopping ladies!
