Wedding Make-up: Working With A Make-up Artist

Between the venue, the guest list and the dress there is no denying the amount of decisions having to be made during wedding planning. You as the bride must also make the decision of whether or not to hire a make-up artist to beautify you and your bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. It really depends on each and every person. Some love getting their make-up professionally applied while others prefer to do it themselves because they feel more confident as they know what they like. I for sure would get my make-up professionally done every morning if I could!

If you do decide to go with a professional make-up artist there are some things to remember:

  • Make sure to meet with the make-up artist before the morning of the wedding, I would recommend you also do a trial run if possible.
  • Speak up. Tell them what colours you had in mind, whether you prefer wearing lipstick to gloss etc. This helps them achieve the perfect look to suit you.
  • Look after your skin in the run up to the wedding. This is something your make-up artist cannot control so make sure to follow a beauty regime!
  • Make sure you are happy with the outcome. If you are not to certain about something express them. A few moments changing or touching something up is not going to delay you too much. After all you need to look and feel your very best!

Hiring a make-up artist will leave you feeling a little more relived on the morning on the wedding. Allowing you to sit back and relax (and enjoy a glass of champers or two!). Make-up artists are professionally trained in selecting the appropriate products to use under different photography lighting.

If you have ever worn tan before you will know the difficulty in matching up your tan to your foundation. Many a time have we all been horrified the following day upon looking at photos, to realise our face was a total different colour to the body! Your make-up artist was make certain  this does not happen on your wedding day! Another pro, professional make-up applications always last the entire day! Meaning you can party into the early hours within worrying about a touch up.
